The Clean Water State Revolving fund was created by the 1987 amendments to the Clean Water Act. The Massachusetts Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) uses a combination of state and local money to provide financial assistance for a wide range of water infrastructure projects.
Of the $80M awarded to Massachusetts, $54,495,000 awarded to the CWSRF program might affect our lakes and ponds. The Massachusetts Clean water trust will work in conjunction with the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection to fund long-term and/or short-term community based projects that address high priority water quality and health related concerns.
More information and a list of eligible projects can be found on the Environmental Protection Agency website.
